AdFocus judging gets underway
Johannesburg, 16 September 2019: Adjudication is underway for the 2019 AdFocus Awards, where the winners will be announced at an Awards event to be held in Johannesburg on 27 November 2019. As in previous years, the adjudication process will be managed and audited by Deloitte.
“The number of entries received for the 2019 Financial Mail AdFocus Awards remains on par with trends of the past few years. The number of Large, Medium, Independent Media and Network Media Agency entries were in line with expectations,” says Phumi Mashigo, Jury Chair of the FM AdFocus Awards.
The Small Agency category is one of the most popular, attracting a growing number of entries. The increase in the number of entries received from specialist agencies reflects the current trend in the industry for agile, nimble agencies that are able to provide brands and marketers with customised solutions.
The AdFocus Partnership of the Year category has grown substantially, and is clear indication of the collaborative efforts between agencies to bring unique strengths to client relationships. Understanding that few agencies can provide the full spectrum of skills to the standards required for delivering the highest quality returns, the importance of a collaborative approach becomes essential.
Unfortunately, the Transformation category has remained static. “With the industry’s need to transform, the lack of entries into this category is disappointing,” says Mashigo.
