Sunday times is really glamming it up this winter with the launch of a cutting edge fashion and beauty magazine, The Edit. The brand new glossy launched on the 15th of March, and is an extension of The Sunday Times Fashion Weekly brand. It will be published and distributed to all Sunday Times Readers twice a year.
Tiaan Nagel, Sunday Times Fashion Weekly editor, has taken the reigns as editor of the publication and plans to make The Edit an eminent voice in the latest fashion and beauty trends. The seasonal publication includes the attention-grabbing editorial focus established in the Fashion Weekly supplement.
The Edit takes a cutting edge approach to today’s trends, with a focus on local design and style influencers. It also reports on global fashion and beauty vogues and will establish itself as one of South Africa’s most refined fashion magazines.
“SA’s fashion scene is thriving and now we have a platform to offer a lush and sophisticated reader experience within a local and international context,” said Nagel. The Edit will be a celebration of South Africa’s distinctive fashion culture.
The Edit’s first edition for winter and autumn sparkled with exclusive features with Joan Small and Marianne Fassler. Their expansive “IT list” featured fun content like “defining black and white”, “shoes you can borrow from the boys” and “denim – the new frontier.”
KNZ gets a bit of Spice
The Sunday Times has just given Kwa-Zulu Natal some Spice. The new business and lifestyle magazine launched to the region on Sunday the 29th March. We welcome the new glossy with relish.
The last Sunday of every month will now have a tasty feature on business, entrepreneurship, entertainment, property, motoring, travel and much more. Greg Ardé, editor of Spice says that the magazine “taps into what’s uniquely hip about KZN and promises to be an informative and entertaining read.”
Spice will include a CSI ‘brag page’ and will look at the projected growth of Kwa-Zulu Natal. The magazine is focussing on growth in the province in a big way and, along with the launch, it will be inviting entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas to a high profile panel of judges.
Sunday Times, in partnership with Deloitte and FNB, is offering young business owners the opportunity to present their ideas to “The Shark Tank” –a team of KZN’s top business minds. The Sharks will feast on ideas and give feedback to participants on the 14th of April. The winner and finalists get some tasty exposure and will be given the chance to be coached by some of the business bests in KZN.
